Mark Burrell CV 

Mark Burrell is an award-winning artist and established professional fine art painter, born in Lowestoft, Suffolk. His work is characterised by a visionary imagination and a distinctive ability to transform the familiar, particularly his hometown of Lowestoft, into richly layered worlds where multiple narratives intertwine.

Mark and his work have appeared on television on seven occasions. In 1991, he won First Prize in Anglia Television’s Moving Art, presented by George Melly, with his work selected by Bill Oddieand the renowned art critic and broadcaster Sister Wendy Beckett also interviewed him.

His paintings have been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Royal Over-Seas League London, The House of Commons, and The Royal Academy, London. He was also highly commended on two occasions at the Eastern Open in King’s Lynn.

His career spans several decades, with his work exhibited nationally and recognised through awards, television appearances and participation in respected open exhibitions and institutions.

Internationally, Marks exhibited in New York USA at The Interart Gallery, The Jarvis Centre and Williamsburg Historical Art Centre. In Europe, France, Norway and Holland, and closer to home, Mark's work has been shown in London at The Mall Galleries (Discerning Eye), The Tripp Gallery, The Splinter Gallery, Le Chat Noir Gallery, Logos Gallery, as well as The Fruit Market Gallery Scotland; The Minories Colchester, Chappel Galleries Essex, Assembly House Norwich, and Norwich Castle. Mark is a resident artist at The Ferini Art Gallery, Pakefield, Suffolk, and taught painting and drawing for pleasure at Lowestoft College.
